I'm back from vacation

I'm just back. What a wonderful time, hiking in the mountains and boating on a lake.  Nature's glories restore proper balance.

Saw this in The Washington Times this morning and wanted to share it as the promised "follow-up" to the Motu Propio normalizing the Latin Mass again in the Roman Catholic Church. Good article.

Feelin' hot hot hot...
Go outside, my hair is hot, my clothes are hot, my eyes are hot. How on earth do your eyes get hot? Summer is in full flower...and it's so hot that flower is wilting fast. And getting gritty, really grimy and gritty.

Man it's s hot.

food for the journey

The words of Saint Isaac the Syrian are the very core of the eastern church...

truly this is food for the journey...

QUOTE

What is a merciful heart? It is a heart on fire for the whole of creation, for humanity, for the birds, for the animals, for demons, and for all that exists. By the recollection of them the eyes of a merciful person pour forth tears in abundance. By the strong and vehement mercy that grips such a person's heart, and by such great compassion, the heart is humbled and one cannot bear to hear or to see any injury or slight sorrow in any in creation. For this reason, such a person offers up tearful prayer continually even for irrational beasts, for the enemies of the truth, and for those who harm her or him, that they be protected and receive mercy. And in like manner such a person prays for the family of reptiles because of the great compassion that burns without measure in a heart that is in the likeness of God.UNQUOTE

Some words given to encourage

Some words given to encourage the Ron Paul supporters in Lincoln Nebraska before The Walk For Freedom  last Sunday.

___________________________________________________________________

Since late 2001 our nation has gone from being pretty universally loved and supported to being feared and despised by much of the world. Our own people are giving up their rights and being told that this will bring them security. Privacy and Habeas Corpus have fallen victim to fear and the desire of government to be  in control. Congressman RonPaul will restore these rights, if elected President.

Basically government is, at the end of the day, a human instution established to protect the weak from the strong. When a government becomes oppressive, it is the pople, or the weaker party, which lose liberties. The goverment (the stronger party) never legislate soppressino for inself, but for the people. There is no cure for a government run amuck, save for the cure provided by the U.S. Constitution. Dr. Ron Paul has the cure.

We The People know that things are not right today, and we also know that America was founded on principles which raise her above the rabble, if followed.  Are we the country that our founding fathers and Constitution intended?  Stuff matters, Words matter. Actions matter. Ron Paul knows that things matter. He knows the Constitution is not just another piece of paper.

For many years now we have drifted away from the unparalleled wisdom of the Declaraton of Independence and the Constitution. That amazing document has been assaulted and battered almost to the point of death. If it were possible to color code freedom alarms, a "code red" would have been issued.

The one candidate who believes in operating 100% within the limits of the U.S. Constitution is Congerssman Ron Paul.

* He has worked torelessly for limited government, low taxes, free markets, a return to sound money, no undeclared wars of empire and the Right to Life.

* He never votes for legislation unless the proposal is expressly authorized by the Constitution. His nickname in Congress is "Dr. No". Lobbyists don't even bother to come to his office. He can't be bought or sold.

* Dr. Paul believes in liberty. He let's people be as they are. He is tolerant, understanding and takes the value of the individual very seriously. He despises the horrors of war. He desires a humble foreign policy in which we never try to coerce other nations to do our will. Under Ron Paul, America will become a much better neighbor in the world community.  He opposes our current situation of taxation without representation, the debt and "inflation tax".

He is a principled man who tells the truth.

I have read the Constitution and the Declaration of Indepence. They are clear and perfect documents and if we return to them as faithfully as Ron Paul desires us to, they will not fail us.  Our land will be well again.  But we have neglected them and have been confused and deluded about what exactly the duties of a citizen are.

We have forgotten the historical battles in which we were victor, and those in which we barely survivied. We have forgotten that the principles which make us America are immaterial, luminescent and spiritual. We must return to them.  (For America to become material, dulled and coarse is like watching a mesmerized man barking because the hypnotist has convinced him he is a dog. )    Every freeman and freewoman who ever dreamed of dignity and died attempting liberty awaits our decison. The nobles of the Magna Carta wait us. John Adams and Tom Paine await us.

America does not need, and indeed, cannot have a king, or any king-like ruler. America's gift to the world is the idea that each man is a king, each woman a queen, subservient to the higher power alone.  This is the path which Ron Paul will lead us on. Vote for Ron Paul !

God bless America.
