The Basement Farms Of Tokyo

Posted on Feb 23rd, 2008 by CalmEagle : pilgrim CalmEagle
Who'd have known? The gardens in the basements of Tokyo. When one considers the amount of fossil fuels required to plant, fertilize, cultivate, harvest, and transport foods, this type of  indoor growing is incredibly efficient.  I've heard that they will get close to 100% usable foodstuffs -  versus traditional farming's lower yield per plant.

hydroponics is also a great alternative to big earth farms.
